Feed the Future provides food to more than 1,800 children at area elementary schools and two Head Start programs each weekend during the school year. The elementary schools are Title 1 schools that have a high percentage of children on the Free and Reduced Lunch program.

Arvada Fire Protection District

Mike Piper has an associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology from Red Rocks Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been a member of the fire service and the Arvada Fire Protection District since 1991, beginning his career as a volunteer firefighter. Between 1993 and 1999, he was simultaneously employed by 2 other fire departments in the capacity as a fire inspector and plans examiner. Piper has been the operations chief for the Arvada Fire Protection District for the past 8 years, having previously served as a line captain, lieutenant and firefighter. He is a published author, CFO and graduated from the NFA’s EFO program in 2013. |
