Arvada Fire Protection District

Mike Piper has an associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology from Red Rocks Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been a member of the fire service and the Arvada Fire Protection District since 1991, beginning his career as a volunteer firefighter. Between 1993 and 1999, he was simultaneously employed by 2 other fire departments in the capacity as a fire inspector and plans examiner. Piper has been the operations chief for the Arvada Fire Protection District for the past 8 years, having previously served as a line captain, lieutenant and firefighter. He is a published author, CFO and graduated from the NFA’s EFO program in 2013.
