Arvada Sunrise Rotary

Brings some guests Tuesday to meet our very own District Governor
Curt has been a member of the Rotary Club of Evergreen for nearly twenty years, serving as the club’s President for RY 2000-01.  In addition, he has served as the club’s International Service Chair, Legacy Project Chair and the club foundation’s President.  He has been involved with fundraising efforts that have raised over $400,000 to support medical facilities in northern Tanzania.  Most recently, Curt had the pleasure to lead another climb (his fourth) of Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro which include five Tanzanian women in support of women’s education in Tanzania.  He is currently organizing another Kilimanjaro climb in early 2018 which will include four Tanzanian women.  His other Rotary passion is RYLA, where in 2002, he helped develop the first Young RYLA program and served as the second Young RYLA Chair in 2003.  Since 2007, he has been involved with RYLA, serving as Chair three times and currently serves as the Treasurer of Rocky Mountain RYLA.  Finally, Curt has been the Area 8 Assistant Governor for the past two years.

In 1979, Curt began a career with the local FirstBank.  During his career, Curt held many different positions including Auditor, Chair of the Credit Administration Department, Chairman the Loan Committee, Compliance Officer and Bank President.  He has served on various non-profit boards including the Seniors’ Resource Center Yellow House Advisory Committee, the Mountain Area Land Trust and Arapahoe House.  Since his retirement in 2001, he has been an active climber, hiker and skier.  Curt and wife Barb have three children and five very entertaining grandchildren.
