Arvada Sunrise Rotary Club is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Four-Way Tes Speech Contest and Scholarship Program. Eight students from Pomona High School and Arvada High School will be selected to present their speeches on the evening of April 12, 2012 at the Arvada Center.
Scholarships will be awarded to the top two contestants. Participation gifts will be awarded to the other contestants.

Eligibility
Must be a senior at either Pomona High or Arvada High.
Minimum GPA of 2.0.
Applications must be submitted by February 15th, 2012
Purpose
Arvada Sunrise Rotary Club is a service club committed to serving
students in the Arvada community. The Club conducts a Four-way
test speech contest to benefit high school youth.
The specific goals of the contest are:
1. To acquaint a large number of youth with Rotary and
the Four-Way Test.
2. To demonstrate and enhance Rotary's commitment to youth.
3. To heighten awareness of Rotary among youth, parents, schools
and community.
4. To recognize, encourage and reward hard work and
accomplishment among youth.

3rd Will it build GOODWILL AND BETER FRIENDSHIPS ?
4Th Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned ?
Topics and Theme
The SPEAKUP! 2012 theme is "Reach Within to Embrace Humanity"
which is also the Rotary international theme. Any topic related to this
theme is acceptable, provided it is completely respectful. If a
contestant is in doubt about the appropriateness of a given topic,
they may check with the Contest Chairperson of the Arvada Sunrise
Rotary Club. Along with an interesting topic relating to this theme,
an ideal contestant will carefully apply the Four-Way Test to their
given topic in the body of their speech.

2 points off for every 15 seconds over or under time limits
